resident perspective

"Millburn-Short Hills is the perfect combination of proximity to the city, excellent schools, vibrant downtown, lots of recreation options and a lovely community. Like most first time buyers, we were looking for a town that offered an easy commute to NYC where we both worked, a cute downtown and great schools.

Our first house was walking distance to town, which we LOVED. Coming from the city, it was so nice to still be able to walk to get a cup of coffee, get on the train or to the park. We have since moved and our new house/neighborhood has a whole different set of things that we love about it and really fits the stage of life that we are in now.

Our neighborhood is very family friendly. Both of our kids (and us!) have tons of friends who are just a quick walk away. We love taking the dog for walks in the South Mountain Reservation - it’s a peaceful getaway only a few minutes away. The kids love how close their schools are to downtown and they walk into town most Fridays after school. Our first house was walking distance to town and Taylor Park - we used to make the trip 2x/day to walk around the pond, play at the playground, and grab a coffee. We also love how close we are to so many other towns - it’s 5-10 minutes in any direction and we have a whole new selection of restaurants, shopping, gyms, etc. We also spend a ton of time at Gero Park - especially during baseball season. Town little league was a fixture in our life for a long time - it’s a great way to see friends and spend your weekends."
